Peter Brown is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and of the Royal Society of Arts. He started or rescued a number of companies which were subsequently sold on to larger groups. These included: Synergy Logistics, Reward Regional Surveys, the Top Pay Research Group, Independent Remuneration Solutions, Gabbitas Educational Consultants, Charity and Fundraising Appointments. He also chaired the following publicly quoted companies: Dawson Holdings plc; the Wace Group plc; Goldshield Pharmaceuticals plc; and IPPlus plc.
He has been a Governor, Chairman or Vice President of the Coram Foundation since 1959. He is a trustee of the Politics and Economics Research Trust, Tomorrow’s Achievers, and Young Enterprise and has been Chairman of the Fountain Society, the Public Monuments and Sculpture Association and the Thames Telethon.
He is currently Chairman of Synergy Holdings and an investor in several growing businesses. As founding patron of the Queen’s Jubilee statue project he hopes to persuade overseas Commonwealth governments, major British cities and institutions with which Her Majesty has had a long-term relationship to honour her reign by erecting a cast of the Jubilee sculpture as a mark of respect for her outstanding contribution to the country over the last 60 years’.
Simon is a research fellow at the New Culture Forum. For the past three years, he has also been responsible for the academic teaching of Shakespeare for the University of Niagara Summer Study Abroad programme.
Prior to this he was an art dealer specialising in Old Master drawings and 19th and 20th century fine art. A graduate of the University of Warwick, Simon also has an MA in the History of British Art and Literature (1840-1940) from the University of Reading.
